Looking at a list of tasks for a project with no context can cause a lot of anxiety. So why would anyone create all the tasks before a project has even started? Wouldn’t it be best to make them as you work on the project?

Are you one of those people that creates the start again, do you create a project and then populate it with a bunch of tasks before you even start the project? A lot of people do that. I, I used to do that. I haven't done that for a very long time. The reason why I don't think it's a good idea is because he don't know where the project is going.

Now you have to have milestones. Um, I think that's the only thing I do. I create milestones. And what I've started to do to do is put emojis. On the milestone. So I know roughly where they are. Um, but if you create a bunch of tasks before the project starts, then you'll probably have problems when the project is going, where do you put the, the new task that needs to be done?

Um, I had that problem. So what I did was create a. Completely blank. Um, project populated with the milestones and that's kind of like my template. So, you know, send the invoice, uh, onboarding and, you know, get in touch with the client and stuff so that the very basics, but the actual project itself, the tasks I create are usually done while I'm working with the project.

So I think it might be an idea to have a look at how you work that and whether it would actually work for you because I found. Uh, populating my project with a bunch of tasks, even before I started, it was just causing me more anxiety than anything else, because you're going into a page with a bunch of tasks that are not done.

And again, where do I start? Like where do I start? And that doesn't help anyone. The milestones are different. And that's why I put an emoji on it because it doesn't look like a normal task as it were, as I said, I use base camp, but I think Sinai actually has milestones and various others, but base camp doesn't.

But anyway, so. Because of the emojis. I kind of get them out of my head. I don't think about them so much, but if there are normal tasks and there are a bunch of them, I just went crazy. So I just don't put them. So when I start the project, obviously when I'm talking to the client and stuff and when I need to do a patch full of things, they become tasks.

And I don't put them there before I start the project. Hope that helps. I hope that's helpful. I get my teeth in, in a moment. Um, have a great day and I'll see you in the next one. Ciao.
